Marble |
| Marble is a popular choice for floors, foyers, fireplace surrounds, walls, vanities and sometimes countertops. Marble is not as hard as granite and should be cared for as you would a fine wood surface. |

Soapstone |
| Soapstone is non-porous and, unlike marble and granite, does not need to be sealed. Soapstone counters are not harmed by hot pots, citrus, wine, acids or chemicals. Soapstone, being softer than granite and marble, is also more prone to scratches. The great advantage is that any scratches can be easily removed with a light sanding and/or mineral oil. |
