Get a Bid
If you are interested in getting a bid for your project, there are basically two ways to get started.
- One of our estimators can come to your home and measure your project.
- You can supply us with basic dimensions.
Choose a Backsplash
Customers have a variety of choices when it comes to backsplash options. There is no right, or wrong choice; any backsplash can be added to create the look that you desire.
4 ½” High Backsplash is our standard backsplash for granite countertops, bar tops, or bathroom vanities at no additional cost. Backsplash height can also be customized to the customer’s specifications for an additional charge.
Full Height backsplash is also a popular choice for kitchens. Full height typically runs from the top of your granite countertops to the base or bottom of the upper cabinets. It provides a unique look and extends the visual flow or grain of the granite. Full height backsplash usually requires purchasing more stone.
Backsplash Options: Other materials are coming on the scene and will continue to be more popular. Tile, tinted glass, copper, stainless steel and wood are gaining customer interest.
Choose Your Edgework
We currently have 6 standard edges available at no additional cost. There are other edges available for an upgrade.

Choose Your Overhangs
At Custom Stone Works, we typically will add a 1 ½” overhang to the front of any countertop surface, including kitchen countertop, bathroom vanity, bar top, etc. “How much of an overhang should my island have?” While there is no standard answer, we do not recommend an overhang larger than 6” to 7” using 2cm stone without some additional support, in most circumstances. With proper support, the overhang can be as large as the customer desires. We have done numerous kitchen islands that extend out and become the kitchen table with no cabinet support. Your estimator can go over the requirements necessary to complete this look and answer any questions you might have at the time he is measuring your project.
Custom Stone Works has done a number of extended countertops going out as far as 5 feet by 8 feet with steel support underneath.
Choose Your Colors
Choosing the color of your natural stone is necessary before a final estimate can be provided. This is the most exciting part of your journey to new countertops! We have a list of importers who will help you choose just the right stone for your project.
